Workshops offer photo experience

New digital photography workshops are being offered through Hancock College’s Community Education for students who want to hone their photography skills and practice using advanced manual camera settings to capture wildlife, natural scenery and landscapes.

The workshops are held on Saturdays, and students may enroll in one or all three:

  • Photographic tour of Oso Flaco Dunes area, March 15, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Course Number 41914)
  • Photographic tour of a local winery, April 12, noon to 6 p.m. (Course Number 41915)
  • Photographic tour of La Purisima Mission, May 3, noon to 6 p.m. (Course Number 41916)

Students meet on the Santa Maria campus in front of Community Education (Bldg. S) for a brief orientation, then travel to locations to walk along various trails or paths. Students must provide personal transportation and photography equipment and be comfortable walking 1 to 2 miles. Some locations require parking and/or entrance fees that are the responsibility of the student.

The fee for each workshop is $36; students should bring a sack lunch.
