When taking images of people, it is very important to interact with them.
Don’t just keep pressing the shutter without the subject knowing what is happening – they will not know if you are happy with the images or if there is a problem and they will not look relaxed.
Instead give the subject constant feedback – ‘your hair looks great in that shot’, ‘fabulous’, ‘That’s really bringing out your eyes’ or similar encouraging phrases.
Your subject will start to relax and feel confident, and you should get much better images.
