Brush up on your art or computer skills by registering for adult education classes offered by Oakton Community College’s Alliance for Lifelong Learning. 

Digital Photography (ART C04-02). Explore photography techniques, review camera basics, delve into the fundamentals of lighting, and work with digital imaging software to manipulate and improve your images. Six-week course meets 7 – 9:30 p.m., Mondays, starting April 7, at Niles North High School, 9800 Lawler Avenue, Skokie. Course fee is $140.

Black and White Photo Lab (ART E05-02). Learn to print from your negatives using traditional methods. Both beginner and advanced darkroom students are welcome! Eight-week course meets 7 – 9:30 p.m., Tuesdays, starting April 8, at Glenbrook South High School, 4000 West Lake Avenue, Glenview. Course fee is $169.

Keyboarding Speed and Accuracy Development (COF A06-C02). Increase your typing speed while improving accuracy by identifying weakness while receiving individualized corrective practice. Five-week course meets 10 a.m. – 12:40 p.m., Thursdays, starting April 10, at Oakton’s Des Plaines campus, 1600 East Golf Road. Course fee is $110. 

Advanced Spreadsheeting for PC: Excel 2010 (COF A55-C01). Familiarize yourself with advanced Microsoft Excel techniques, including interfacing with external data sources; locating and resolving errors using auditing tools; and managing collaboration on workbooks. Six-week course meets 5:45 – 10 p.m., Thursdays, starting April 10, at Oakton’s Des Plaines campus. Course fee is $206.
