Summit Anne Arundel Community College hosts its fourth annual Black Male Initiative Summit to Aid Student Success from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the Center for Applied Learning and Technology, Room 100, on the Arnold campus, 101 College Parkway. Students, faculty, staff and community members focused on helping black male students succeed are invited to attend. Summit is free and includes dinner. Oyster roast The fourth annual Annapolis Oyster Roast and Sock Burning, featuring music by the Eastport Oyster Boys and the Dan Haas Band, will be held from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, March 22, at the Annapolis Maritime Museum, 723 Second St. The event includes an oyster-shucking contest and skipjack rides at 12:15 p.m. and 2 p.m. Beer, wine, food and other beverages will be available for purchase. Awards dinner The 25th annual Ed Casey Youth of the Year Awards Dinner will be held from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, April 10, at the Sheraton Hotel, 173 Jennifer Road in Annapolis. Flower mart The Four Rivers Garden Club will hold its annual Flower Mart from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. April 30 at the Market House in downtown Annapolis. An assortment of native plants and perennials from members’ gardens as well as cut flowers and attic treasures will be offered for sale. Club members will fashion May baskets from cut flowers and offer expert advice on flower arranging for the novice. Flower-arranging workshops are scheduled for 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. Cost is $25-$35.
