AHMEDABAD: Ace lensman Raghu Rai will hold a workshop for students of Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University (PDPU) on Saturday.
The photography club of the university, Sorriso, will host the Padmashree photographer on its campus as part of its two-day event on photography.
Sorriso, which is a 430-member club, is holding a national-level exhibition where 100 select photographs by both professionals and amateurs from across the country will be displayed. “The top three photographs will be chosen by Raghu Rai,” said Maurya Kadia, a student of PDPU.
The workshop by Rai will give students a chance to understand basic techniques of photography. “Photographers are very eager to learn and know. Thanks to the digital era and camera phones, people have started to enjoy photography. Some are taking it up seriously as well. The more people are excited about the art, the merrier it is,” said Rai.
Rai’s workshop will focus on how photography started and where it is going today. “I will keep it interactive. Any issue that youngsters think is worth asking, I will love to discuss,” he said.
