Introduction to Digital Photography: A One-Day Seminar

In this one-day class covering the basics of digital photography, professional photographer Andrew Adams will begin with the basic mechanics of digital cameras and the various settings they provide. He will discuss how to take better pictures from both a technical and aesthetic perspective, providing insight into the mental processes of photography, such as the factors that make some images more compelling than others and what you can do to improve your own photography, whether you’re creating artsy black-and-white work or recording memories of vacations. He will also provide an overview of photo editing and printing, photo transfer and organization using iPhoto and Picasa, and how to find additional instruction on the Web. Please note that due to the brief nature of the class, shutters and apertures will only be discussed at a basic level.
