“Be Your Own Super Hero!” is the theme for this summer’s Teen Digital-Photography Contest at four libraries in the Fort Bend County library system. Participating libraries include the Cinco Ranch Branch, the Mamie George Branch in Stafford, the Missouri City Branch, and the Sienna Branch Libraries. The contest begins June 1, and continues through Aug. 1.
Participants must be between the ages of 13 and 18, and must be residents of Fort Bend County. Entry forms, rules, and instructions will be available at the libraries and on the Fort Bend County Libraries website (www.fortbend.lib.tx.us) – simply click on “Branches” on the gray toolbar, then select one of the participating branch libraries for the Photo Contest information.

Entry forms for the photos must be received by Aug. 1, at the participating branch libraries. They may be hand-delivered to any of these libraries, emailed to the contest email address, or mailed to: Cinco Ranch Branch Library, Digital Photo Contest, 2620 Commercial Center Blvd, Katy, Texas 77494.
Up to two original digital photographs may be entered. Photographs should be submitted as .jpg or .gif files to contest@fortbend.lib.tx.us, with the subject heading “Digital Photo Contest 2014,” and should not exceed 3MB per photo. The photographer’s name, address, email address, phone number, and title of the picture should be included in the email. Hard-copy photos will not be accepted. Digitally altered photos beyond standard optimization (removal of dust, red-eye, cropping, reasonable adjustments to exposure, color and contrast, etc.) will not be accepted. The photographer must obtain and show permission from any identifiable individual in the picture.
Winners will be announced on August 15, and prizes will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd-place entries.
