COUNCIL On Disability’s Photography Course — INVERCLYDE Council on Disability’s ABC Project is offering a 10-week course in digital photography. It is free to disabled people in Inverclyde and starts on Wednesday 9 April, 12:30 to 2:30pm in Central Library, Cathcart Street, Greenock. CHURCH’S Grab-A-Bargain Day -– GREENOCK East United Reformed Church in Bawhirley Road are holding a grab-a-bargain day on Thursday 10 April from 10am to 4pm. Everything will be £3 or less and there will be clothes (some brand new with labels on), toys, shoes, jigsaws, CDs and lots more. There will also be a home-baking stall and tea, coffee and a pancake for £1.

MESSY Church At Old Gourock And Ashton — OLD Gourock and Ashton Parish Church are having an Easter-themed Messy Church event on Sunday (6 April) from 2 to 4p.m. in the Arran Hall. There is a wide range of activities planned, including messy kitchen, cone puppet-making and sand art as well as other crafts and activities.  All ages are welcome.

WELLINGTON Park Bowling Club’s Opening Day — WELLINGTON Park Bowling Club, Greenock officially opens for play on Saturday 12 April starting at 2pm. The club will welcome kindred clubs, old and new members and invited guests. Membership for 2014 is now due and the club is also offering a new ‘first year’ membership deal for new members at £50. RECYCLING Centres Opening Later — INVERCLYDE Council’s two recycling centres are now open later. Kirn Drive in Gourock is open from 8am until 8pm, Monday to Friday and 8am until 7pm at weekends while Pottery Street in Greenock is open from 8am until 8.30pm, Monday to Friday and 8am until 7.30pm at weekends.

CLUNE Park Annual General Meeting — CLUNE Park Resource Centre management committee will be holding their annual general meeting on Monday (14 April) at 7pm at the centre in Montgomerie Street, Port Glasgow. The public welcome to attend. Tea and coffee will be provided.

PHOTO Display At Visitor Centre — CLYDE Muirshiel Regional Park’s touring photographic exhibition will be at Greenock Cut Visitor Centre until Sunday 27 April. The display features the prize winners and entries from the park’s 2013 Year of Natural Scotland photography competition. The centre at Loch Thom is open from 11am to 3pm at weekends only until the end of March.
