THE Shoalhaven Photographic Club, with the support of the Shoalhaven Arts Board, is inviting entries for the 2014 Biennial Shoalhaven Photography Competition.

The club is particularly eager to encourage entries from local photographers.

This competition originated from a biennial competition called the Circle of Excellence that alternated with literature and photography, held in conjunction with the Shoalhaven Arts Board.

The first Shoalhaven Biennial Photographic Competition was held in 2004 and ever since has grown in prestige and prizemoney.

Entries are invited from photographers across Australia.

It is an open subject competition for digital media only.

Major prizes are $1000 for first place, $500 for second place and $250 for third place with additional prizemoney for highly commended and commended entries.

Entries can be posted by mail on a CD, DVD or USB stick, together with a completed entry form and entry fees.

They can also be delivered by hand to the Nowra School of Arts Annexe between 12noon and 2pm on Saturday, March 29.

There will be an exhibition of selected entries at the Shoalhaven City Arts Centre from Saturday, May 10 to Monday, June 2.

Further details about the presentation of entries, entry form, mailing and emailing addresses may be viewed and downloaded from the Shoalhaven Photographic Club website at www.shoalphoto.org.
